“How soon can you have us up and running?” is one of the first questions we hear from church leaders. It’s a fair question — your ministry doesn’t pause for construction, and the last thing you want is weeks of disruption with no clear end in sight.
Here’s a realistic look at what the AVL installation process looks like and how long each phase actually takes.
Phase 1: Consultation and Site Survey (1–2 Weeks)
Every project starts with a conversation and a site visit. We come to your space, assess your current system, take measurements, look at your infrastructure, and listen to what you’re trying to accomplish. From that, we put together a system design and detailed proposal.
This phase typically takes one to two weeks from first contact to a proposal in your hands. Some churches want to move fast; others need time to bring the proposal to a board or budget committee. We work at your pace.
Phase 2: Design Finalization and Equipment Procurement (2–4 Weeks)
Once you’ve approved the proposal and we have a signed agreement, we finalize the system design and order equipment. Lead times on professional AVL gear have stabilized after the supply chain disruptions of a few years ago, but specialty items can still take two to four weeks.
This is also when we coordinate scheduling with your team — identifying which days/times work for installation without disrupting your programming.
Phase 3: Installation (1–5 Days, Typically)
The actual on-site installation phase varies widely based on project scope:
- A small system upgrade (new mixer, a few speakers, wireless mics): 1–2 days
- A mid-size full system replacement: 3–5 days
- A large-scale project with LED walls, full lighting rigs, streaming systems, and major cable infrastructure: 1–3 weeks
We work efficiently and do our best to minimize disruption to your facility and schedule. Many installations are completed in the middle of the week so you’re ready for the weekend.
Phase 4: Commissioning and Tuning (1–2 Days)
This is the phase that separates a professional installation from just plugging things in. Commissioning includes system alignment and tuning, EQ optimization for your specific room, RF frequency coordination, control system programming, and integration testing. It’s not rushed, because getting this right is what makes your system actually perform.
Phase 5: Training (Half Day to Full Day)
Before we leave, we train your team — both technical staff and key volunteers — on how to operate the system. We also provide documentation and are available for follow-up questions.
Realistic Total Timeline
From first contact to first Sunday on the new system: 6–10 weeks for most projects. Larger projects or those requiring board approval may take longer. Rush projects can sometimes be accommodated depending on our schedule and equipment availability.
Planning Ahead Matters
If you’re targeting a specific date — a church anniversary, a building dedication, a fall kickoff — tell us early. The sooner we start the process, the more flexibility we have to hit your deadline.
